Me: “Hey, you need a jump start?”
Them: “Yeah”
M: *pulls over to where they are parked*
T: “You’re going to have to move or turn around, there’s no way the jumper cable will reach that far.”
M: “Yes they will, the battery is in the trunk.”
T: “...WHAT?!?!”
Repeat as several more people walk over and tell me to turn the car around.

I’ve also got remote terminals under the hood so I can just park however.

Need a jump start?
Nope.
Continue to push car, run to open driver’s door, hop in, place shifter in 1st gear, pop clutch.

I wonder...it’s possible I have the same feature.

That’s a lot of physical activity, which I am allergic to.

That’s really cool actually.

I have no idea why that impresses people so much but I get the same reaction. Though I have terminals under the hood to jump stuff since my battery is buried under a panel and other stuff in my trunk, odds are you have them too.

there’s likely a big positive post somewhere under the hood in your car. this should work just like the positive terminal right on the battery. the question is, how difficult is it to get at it.

The only way you could impress me in a jump start situation is maybe hooking the cables up to your nipples and chugging a Powerade and getting it to start.
I've grown cold to the world of jump starting.

You could always jump a Sebring the hard way. Wheel and fender liner out.

There’s a second Y...it’s AYAYTEL. Sound it out, the picture should be a big hint.

That’s actually good german engineering. Mine is under my rear bench. I do have hood terminals.

My dad’s ‘01 V70 T5 has the same “feature” although they recommend using the terminals under the hood for jump starting...
